We’re currently searching for a Coordinator for Well-being to join our Residential Well-being team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re committed to promoting holistic well-being for residential students, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Residential Well-being team; a department centered on creating intentional residential communities that are characterized by belonging, flourishing, compassion for self and others, and meaningful engagement.
2) You’ll be reporting to a Managing Director in Residential Well-being and an Assistant Director in Hokie Wellness, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. 
3) You’ll be responsible for connecting students to relationships and opportunities that empower each student to take an active and engaging day-to-day approach to their well-being, including financial, social, physical, community, career, purpose, emotional, and mental dimensions and leading a team of 15-25 diverse student leaders for well-being who live in the residence halls and provide well-being opportunities and programming for a group of fellow Hokies.
4) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $44,000- $46,000 with an on-campus apartment or $50,000-$52,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

THE TEAM: At Virginia Tech, Residential Well-being refers to a collaborative vision & effort by partners across the Division of Student Affairs, such as Hokie Wellness, the Dean of Students office, Experience VT, and the Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer. The Residential Well-being office operates as a matrix organization, where coordinators have the opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team that serves a district of approximately 2000 students, as well as belonging to a team of fellow coordinators from other districts who work with an expert leader from the coordinating department.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Experience developing and leading peer groups and developing, facilitating, and evaluating programs and trainings
• Demonstrate vision and creativity in program design and promotion
• Team-oriented and demonstrate adaptability and initiative
• Demonstrate vision and creativity in program design and promotion, as well as strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Knowledge of public health theories and practices
• Experience with campus-wide education/programming and strategic planning
• Creativity in identifying, brainstorming, implementing, and evaluating unmet needs of underserved and underrepresented communities
• Ability to respond effectively to crises
• Experience working with students in a complex, educational setting

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Serve in an on-call capacity for approximately six to eight weeks throughout the year
