Nature & Purpose of Position Performs semi-complex administrative work focused on the accurate and efficient processing of GI Bill® Certifications and Hazlewood exemptions. Provides foundational support for the Veterans Benefits Processing department to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Primary Responsibilities Processes GI Bill® Certifications and Hazlewood exemptions with attention to detail, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. Communicates with military-affiliated students to assist in collecting and submitting necessary documents. Maintains and updates student files and records in accordance with university and regulatory standards. Resolves basic issues related to certifications and exemptions and escalates complex problems as needed. Assists in compiling information and generating reports for various levels of administration as needed, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes. Collaborates with team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of benefits for all eligible students. Works closely with Student Account Services and Student Financial Services to verify the timely and accurate payment of benefits through the reconciliation process. Stays informed on changes in federal and state regulations related to military benefits and implements them as necessary. Participates in training and professional development opportunities. Performs other related duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the Veterans Benefits Processing department and the university community.
