Job Title Coordinator II - Nursing Learning and Assessment Support Posting Number F006366 Position Status Full Time Assignment Length Not Applicable Grant Funded No Category APT Class Code 14 Starting Pay $66,951 Special Note Commensurate with education and experience Location Trinity River Department TR Nursing Job Summary Reporting to the Divisional Dean, the Coordinator II – Nursing Learning and Assessment Support is responsible for overseeing learning support for challenging topics in nursing programs. The position will engage with students to identify appropriate interventions and remediation strategies to improve retention, program progression, and academic success. The position will collaborate with other learning support members and faculty to foster opportunities for increased student engagement and learning outside the classroom. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Develops and maintains a comprehensive academic action plan for at-risk students Establishes appropriate remediation protocols to increase student performance Supports student academic success through workshops, remediation sessions, group tutorials, and one-on-one student meetings Collaborates with division faculty to identify students at risk for persistence issues and develops a plan to address their needs Communicates with faculty to plan remediation and tutoring sessions to fit individual students’ needs Partners with a student learning outcomes (SLO) committee to develop SLOs, service outcomes (SO), benchmarks, and rubrics as well as solve issues with assessment plans Collects and analyzes evidence, while developing tools and templates to assist in documenting and reporting Develop statistical models and analyses to measure achievements and outcomes Conducts focus groups with students, faculty, and staff to gather insights into practices and where there are opportunities for improvement Schedules and assigns unit work and oversees daily operations Makes technical decisions by applying policies, regulations, and protocol Manages Budget


Service Excellence Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Required Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing or other Nursing related field and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience Preferred Qualifications At least one (1) year’s working experience in a college or university setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of individual and group teaching and learning techniques Knowledge of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) RN test plan and priorities for examination preparation strategies Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships Ability to analyze student data to identify strengths and weaknesses of students within assigned courses in the nursing program Ability to integrate appropriate interventions to increase comprehension of course content and overall student performance Ability to analyze data to identify at-risk students through data tracking platforms and develop appropriate remediation strategies to address challenges in core course success Ability to design appropriate strategies for test-taking skills, note-taking skills, and study skills to increase course performance Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
