Three years of experience in a higher education field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs complex administrative and highly advanced program work in alumni, scholarships, and donor relations for the College of Criminal Justice (COCJ). Primary Responsibilities Prepares and reviews reports on alumni and donor program effectiveness, handling program budget requests. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates alumni and donor programs. Interprets procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Works with assigned alumni and donor relations program staff to support various initiatives. Conducts research, writes, edits, and proofreads newsletters, event materials, and website content related to alumni contributions. Corresponds directly with Deans and Directors in the College of Criminal Justice, University Advancement, and new donors to maintain existing scholarships and endowments in excess of $7 million. Organizes attendance at alumni association events and fosters alumni relations. Collaborates and solicits faculty, staff, and colleagues in increasing support of student alumni. Fosters an engaged and active alumni network to foster collaborative opportunities for current students. Develops strategic communication plans to integrate undergraduate and graduate alumni into current programs. Coordinates events for different alumni groups to maintain engagement. Manages alumni and donor database, tracks gifts, and maintains regular donor correspondence. Collaborates with the University Alumni board, facilitating productive relationships between members and College of Criminal Justice leadership. Supervises work-study employees and provides guidance to alumni volunteers. Represents the College at alumni events, occasionally working evenings and weekends with occasional travel within and outside the state. Serves as Chair of the Criminal Justice Scholarship Committee, working closely with University Advancement, Academic Affairs, and Financial Aid for issues related to donors and maintenance of 100+ scholarships totaling over $500,000. Reviews applications for scholarships with committees and makes selections. Maintains donor and scholarship agreements. Responsible for coordinating and hosting the College’s annual Honors Convocation each Spring. Works with recipients to complete paperwork, interact with donors and attend Honor’s Convocation. Facilitates communication between donors and recipients at the annual Honor’s Convocation, preparing the annual lists and scripts of recipients for presentations. Manages the purchasing and awarding of plaques for donor recognition. Keeps students updated on scholarship availability and processes. Develops new initiatives for the College to support the university’s annual giving campaign. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies. Requires professional contact with students, prospective students, parents, alumni, community college officials and high schools and their officials. Requires knowledge of university policies and procedures, and expertise in student advising programs and activities.
