Coordinator - Lab - FT - Days
Haywood Regional Medical Center
Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, handling all employee concerns, directing work assignments, counseling and disciplining employees when necessary, and completing employee performance appraisals.Manages, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day work activities of assigned staff; completes work schedules; interviews and makes hiring recommendations.Responds to grievances of patients as well as other customers.Plans, implements, and monitors Quality Assurance program for the Laboratory.Works with Lab Leadership team in evaluating and implementing new tests and instrumentation.Works closely with Technical Supervisors to ensure compliance with proficiency testing, quality control, and regulatory agencies.Works closely with Laboratory Administrative Director to assist with staying in budget and operational (productivity) parameters.Ensures Laboratory operates in compliance with all relevant federal, state and local regulations and all company policies and procedures.Safety Officer for the Laboratory.Performs clinical lab duties as needed.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Applied or Clinical Lab ScienceRequired Skills
Certifications:
ASCP MLS/MT preferredRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Minimum Work Experience
Five (5) years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and/or high complexity testing. Prefer 1-2 years of leadership experience.
