**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Oversees online exhibitions and support a national Dyer Arts Center traveling exhibit program involving regional museums, schools for the deaf and other appropriate organizations. This includes maintaining shipping schedules, proper insurance for exhibited work, and working directly with exhibiting organizations to ensure the works are properly installed, maintained and sent to the next exhibiting organization. Decides which technologies are best used for visitors.
+ Manages both the Dyer Arts Center’s permanent collection of more than 1,000 pieces of art by professional Deaf artists and NTID’s collection of artwork. This includes processing artworks and cataloguing the Dyer Arts Center’s art database and creating and cataloguing a second database for NTID’s collection of art.
+ Work directly with the professional Deaf artists who will be exhibiting works to document the loaned works, complete condition reports, maintain accurate inventory and work to ship the artwork. Serves as the lead person for Deaf artists.
+ Determine schedule for exhibits in the Dyer Arts Center and Ohringer Galleries, and oversee process to ship artwork to NTID, prepare exhibition materials for installation, install the artwork for exhibition, close the exhibition and return artwork to artists.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Two to three years’ experience in museum/art gallery settings, educational settings, communication or related experience.
+ Knowledgeable of processes for preparing and installing exhibits
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments in a fast paced, dynamic work
+ environment
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Experience in complex filing and research systems
+ Experience with Deaf Culture and ability to communicate in American Sign Language or
+ willingness to learn
+ Excellent ability to build relationships with service providers
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong knowledge of proper artwork shipping and insurance procedures
+ Experience in working directly with members of the professional art community

The mission of the NTID Office of External Affairs is to provide institute leadership in high quality and coordinated engagement of alumni, parents, retirees, corporate partners, community organizations, partner not-for-profits and other organizations. Through its work, the office will: increase philanthropic support of the institute; identify and grow revenue generating programs through contract work with corporations and other organizations, and build a network of partners to increase nationwide visibility and assist NTID is realizing its enrollment, employment, constituent engagement and research goals.

**Job Summary:**
The Coordinator of Exhibitions and Collections reports to the Director of the Dyer Arts Center
+ Manages both the Dyer Arts Center’s permanent collection of more than 1,000 pieces of art by professional Deaf artists and NTID’s collection of artworks
+ Oversees rotating exhibitions in both the Dyer Arts Center main gallery, glass room, Ohringer Gallery, and the NTID President’s Hallway
+ Serves as the lead person in developing and maintaining relationships with Deaf artists and museum contacts
+ Oversees online exhibitions, makes decisions on what technologies to use, and supports the Dyer Arts Center traveling exhibition
The Coordinator of Exhibitions and Collection manages both the Dyer Arts Center’s permanent collection of more than 1,000 pieces of art by professional Deaf artists and NTID’s collection of
artworks. This includes managing and developing the collections management system, processing artworks, and cataloguing the Dyer Arts Center’s art database and creating and cataloguing a second database for NTID’s collection of art. The Coordinator serves as primary contact for technology support of database—working with software vendors to resolve issues and implement upgrades.
The Coordinator also oversees the rotating exhibitions for both the Dyer Arts Center main galleries and Ohringer Gallery. This includes working directly with professional Deaf artists and collectors who will be exhibiting works to document the loaned works, complete condition reports, maintain accurate inventory and work to ship the artwork, prepares exhibition materials for installation, install the artwork for exhibition, close the exhibition, and return artwork to artists. The Coordinator is also responsible for creating and keeping timelines of all exhibitions and corresponding with stakeholders. The Coordinator must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment as artworks may arrive late or damaged, the physical space may have issues, and so forth.
The Coordinator serves as a lead person for developing and maintaining relationships with Deaf artists, using sophisticated interpersonal skills. The Director will initiate most, if not all contacts, then transfer the contacts to the Coordinator for cultivation and maintenance.
The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Director in establishing a national Dyer Arts Center traveling exhibit program involving regional museums, schools for the deaf and other
appropriate organizations. This includes maintaining shipping schedules, proper insurance for exhibited work, and working directly with exhibiting organizations to ensure the works are properly installed, maintained and sent to the next exhibiting organization. The Coordinator will also oversee online exhibitions and decide which technologies to use to best serve visitors.
