The Coordinator of Foundations and Corporate Giving reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will work primarily out of Rising Ground downtown Brooklyn Administrative office. They will need to visit Rising Ground programs throughout New York City and Yonkers, New York. This individual will be responsible for renewing, prospecting, submitting, and reporting all of Rising Ground private support. They should have an appreciation for the work of Human Service and Child Welfare services in the New York area. This individual should have a strong familiarity with foundation and corporate funders. They must have good time management skills, and the ability to work independently while being part of a dynamic team. This individual will be part of a team that includes Government Contracts, Individual Giving, Special Events, Organization Communications, and Volunteers.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the Coordinator of Foundation and Corporate Grants will include but are not limited to the following activities:
Write high-quality, concise and compelling proposals and project manage all aspects of preparation, submission, and reportingResearch, prepare and maintain a prospecting matrix with eligibility, requirements and priority levelLead the execution of logic model development, gain approvals on program budgets, prepare applications and stewardship materialsCreate and manage a comprehensive calendar of past, current and upcoming proposalsImplement a system for reporting reminders and templates to all relevant staff in advance of deadlinesCoordinate with development team and finance staff on the preparation and review of financial reports, and revisions of approved grant budgets as necessary Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training, and 1-2 years of direct experienceDemonstrated experience in writing persuasive, clear, concise, and visually attractive proposals/reports, preferably as a grant writer for a social services nonprofit, preferably child welfare organization.Experience successfully soliciting local, regional and national foundations and a proven track record of securing new foundation grants for a large New York City Social Services organizationHave strong knowledge of procedures for private grant proposal submissions, funder selection criteria, and post-award funder expectationsExperience with city, state and federal Request for Proposals and grant proceduresHave prepared samples of pre- and post-award proposal writing, including Letters of Inquiry, abstracts, concept papers, and acknowledgment lettersAble to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and funding goals, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm, professional work styleSuperior organization and project management skills including the ability to coordinate overlapping projects and deadlines, and an excellent attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as a team playerProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and databases management preferably Raiser’s EdgePlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in Midtown Manhattan. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, 10 am - 6 pm.

Authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week. Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)

The pay rate for this position is between $90,000 - $110,000/yr., depending on experience and fit for the role. Rising Ground offers competitive compensation based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size.
