Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements Preferred Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Technology, health-related field, or another related field At least one (1) year’s working experience with computer or information technology, including networking At least one (1) year’s working experience in a healthcare or healthcare education setting or in a healthcare field such as Allied Health Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) Current certification as or at least one (1) year’s working experience as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nurse Assistant, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, or another related field At least one (1) year’s working experience with audio-video equipment, including recording, duplication, and editing software Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of simulation lab best practices and processes, including setup, breakdown, and moulage of healthcare simulations Knowledge of assessment, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware, software, and equipment in an emergent manner Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite; able to quickly learn new technology Skilled in managing supply and laboratory equipment budgets Ability to be creative and flexible in designing innovative approaches to solving problems and improving processes Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds unassisted, or up to 50 pounds with the assistance of other employees or equipment as appropriate. Location Trinity River Department TR Nursing Job Summary Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Nursing of Simulation and Learning Support, the Coordinator of Simulation and Learning Support manages and provides technical support for the planning and implementation of simulation and related learning support resources in nursing and health sciences. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Manages the operation of patient simulator equipment, including turning on all simulators, audio/visual equipment, and patient monitors before each simulation, equipment servicing and maintenance agreements, training, performing reliability tests to ensure proper functioning before each simulation, and scheduling medical simulator performances Cleans room, changes linen, drains fluids from simulator and equipment, cleans simulator, arranges furniture and carts, recycles supplies, replenishes stock, prepares medications, applies moulage and prepares environment for the next class after each simulation session Utilizes computers and audiovisual equipment to develop and facilitate equipment training for internal and external clients, both onsite and remotely Maintains a high level of knowledge in simulation and other immersive learning technologies in order to provide guidance on the department or program’s direction and strategy Provides information and assistance to students and faculty who are participating in a simulation Collaborates with faculty with simulation creation and preparation Organizes storage spaces and manages supply inventory Leads and supervises highly complex unit or program Performs complex administrative, technical functions for the unit Schedules and assigns unit work and oversees daily operations Makes technical decisions by applying policies, regulations, and protocol and notifies the Assistant Dean of Nursing Simulation when an equipment malfunction is unable to be resolved promptly Manages community outreach; develops and maintains relationships with individuals and organizations Supervises and facilitates the work of administrative staff and develops unit goals and direction Manages Budget Actively recruits and oversees hiring of new staffService Excellence Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
