Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements One (1) year’s experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others) Preferred Qualifications Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education, or closely related field Master’s degree At least one (1) year’s working experience in higher education in an administrative position At least one (1) year’s working experience collaborating with other community agencies and organizations that provide disability support services Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and all applicable state and federal disability statutes as well as general awareness of current literature and legal cases in post-secondary education Knowledge of best practices as defined by the Association of Higher Education on Disability, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling, the American Counseling Association and/or the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board Knowledge of testing and measurements, the ability to interpret diagnostic assessments and documentation of cognitive, psychiatric, and medical disorders, their impact on the provision of services to college students with disabilities Knowledge of functional limitations of disabilities, their effect(s), understanding their academic, and the determination of the appropriate accommodation(s) Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships including strong listening, verbal, and written communication Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Position Information Job Title Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resources Posting Number F006561 Position Status Full Time Grant Funded No Category APT Class Code 15 Starting Pay $61,484 Special Note Commensurate with education and experience Location Northeast Department NE Student Accessibility Resources Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Student accessibility Resources or other assigned campus leader, the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resources is responsible for providing general disability management, advising, and support to students with disabilities by ensuring accessibility to all TCC programs and services. This position serves as a liaison between faculty, staff, and students with special needs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Evaluates students’ documentation to establish eligibility for departmental services; meets with active and prospective students to discuss reasonable and effective use of accommodations Educates students in self-advocacy to help implement reasonable accommodations; promotes awareness of the department’s services; develops and maintains knowledge of disability law practices and issues related to ADA and Section 504 compliance Adheres to policies and procedures to guide provision of academic accommodations and services to disabled students; provides feedback to Director regarding revisions and implementation Acts as a liaison between students, faculty, and rehabilitation agencies, which involves monitoring disabled students progress at TCC Gathers and reports data for annual reports and special studiesGeneral Supervision and Management Hires, trains, coordinates, and supervises staff to maintain ADA and Section 504 compliance
