Coordinator-Ophthalm Research

Job Summary: The Coordinator-Ophthalmalogy Research supports, facilitates, develops and coordinates clinical trial activities. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, Administration, sponsor and institution to support and provide guidance on all aspects of clinical studies including but not limited to compliance, Grants Management, IRB demands, study implementation and closure. These functions are in accordance with GCP/ICH/IRB/LLUHC/LLU policies and procedures. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum two years of experience in ophthalmology required.

Knowledge and Skills: knowledge of clinical ophthalmology; read and write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; communicate effectively; good interpersonal skills; maintain high level of confidentiality and ethical integrity; team player yet work independently with minimal supervision; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively; accept direction; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; show critical independent thinking; make quick and informed decisions, detail-oriented. Use computer and software programs necessary to the position; perform basic math functions; distinguish colors and smells as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch. 

Licensures and Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.  When needed by study, Certification with Wisconsin Reading Center and/or certification in refractometry is/are required within 120 days of notification.  Complete IRB education training is required within 10 days of hire. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
