Overview The Materials Management Coordinator of peri-operative supplies will be responsible for developing inventory profiles for 12 operating rooms, central supply areas, and pre/postoperative areas. The will be responsible for assisting in the development of a dynamic delivery and pick up schedule for supplies, linen, and waste management. They will coordinate the procurement and stocking activities in the OR Materials department. Coordinate and maintain a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services in support of nursing services to maintain efficiency and quality of unit operations. Additionally, coordinate and maintain supply and inventory management activities for peri-operative services including, but not limited to, Case cart picking, par management, peri-operative inventory, direct patient supply requirements, clerical support and related unit-support functions. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent with three years responsible work experience in functional areas of Materials Management and/or Operating Room in a healthcare setting; Preferred AA, AS or equivalent degree and 1-2 years technical or professional experience in one or more functional areas of Materials Management and or Operating Room in a healthcare setting; or any equivalent combination (i.e. 3 years) of education and work experience that includes Materials Management and or Operating Room in a healthcare setting. Detailed experience with inventory management and par management duties are required. Experience with MS Office applications is required. Requires general communications, mathematical and organizational skills. Experience in Perioperative Inventory management activities, clean storeroom environment and knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems required. Experience with PeopleSoft Supply Chain, BCX and Omnicell applications preferred, but not required. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels within the hospital. Strong analytical skills, problem solving, written and verbal skills are necessary. Must be able to work independently. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
