Lab Point of Care Coordinator – St. Francis Downtown

The Lab Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for the coordinator of point of care testing. This support crosses multiple laboratory and clinic locations. As the Lab Point of Coordinator, it is important to provide technical resources and daily direction to the correct staff member(s) with regard to laboratory policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions: 

Works with nursing, physicians, employees, and management as needed to ensure Point of Care testing is running efficiently and effectivelyEnsures timely reporting, read back, and documentation of critical tests and resultsImplements Point of Care devices, instruments, and processesComplies monthly workload and Quality Assurance and Quality Control reports Develops, evaluates, and revises all processes or procedures; collects and analyzes data promptlyMaintains, troubleshoots, and takes corrective action with equipment as neededOther duties as assigned

Education

Associates in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (required)

Bachelors, Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (preferred)

Work Experience

4 years of lab tech experience (required)

Certifications:

Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) required
