UW faculty and staff also enjoy outstanding benefits, professional growth opportunities and unique resources in an environment noted for diversity, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits and natural beauty. **Creative Communications has an outstanding opportunity for a Copy Center Equipment Operator 3 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv).** **Basic Functions and Responsibilities:** Under the supervision of the Copy Center Supervisor and general policies and operating procedures of Copy Services, this position will have the following responsibilities: Operate networked high-speed digital copier/printers; will also operate wide format printers and cutting/mounting equipment. Work with Windows PCs; manipulate files using a variety of software; work closely with clients regarding these files. Schedule and maintain production on equipment; operate small bindery equipment and any other peripheral equipment. Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and create quotes to bill jobs. Provide customers with outstanding customer service both at a walk-up service counter and online. This position requires the ability to work with a variety of people and to work under pressure while maintaining a positive public service attitude. **Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:** Operate various wide format printers, cutters and mounting equipment. Operate digital color copier, maintain production and complete customer requests promptly Operate various programs on PCs including; Adobe Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint. Work to educate client on best method for intake of files and file formats/sizes. Will be required to run complex and complicated jobs, in addition to routine requests. May lead the work of others **Post Production and Operating Peripheral Equipment (may include any of the following):** Pad completed orders (fan pad, glue pad, etc.) Operate tape, comb and/or coil binding equipment Prepare materials for shipping to Publications Services for bindery completion Operate cutter Operate laminator Box, wrap, and label completed orders Contact customer for pick-up and/or arrange for delivery Other duties as needed. **Supervision Received:** Supervised by the Copy Center Supervisor. **Supervision Exercised:** None. **Minimum Qualifications:** High school graduation or GED certificate plus one year of experience in a high-speed photocopy production environment. **Desirable Qualifications:** Customer service experience Digital technology skills, including experience with on PCs and ability to use/ manipulate files on a variety of software programs including Adobe Indesign/Illustrator Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs Experience in a Wide Format shop or cut size digital print environment Use of PACE Managed Information System or EPS’ Market Direct Storefront University of Washington is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
