The Copy Editor will develop and implement consistency and accuracy of editorial style, brand voice and brand standards across product placements, editorial coverage, media partnership, and events programming. This is a 4 day hybrid position based out of our CB2 Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. A day in the life as a Copy Editor… + Edit and proof, and fact-check all CB2 consumer facing and internal copy/content assuring 100% accuracy + Regularly collaborate on updating proofreading/editing process to maintain accuracy and efficiency Update and maintain style guide for catalog copy, website copy, digital ads and all other digital creative + Coordinate with Creative, Merchandising and Production teams on the layout and design of the materials to ensure readability and consistency of content/copy + Update and maintain legal terms and apply accurately to creative materials Organize and manage the review of catalog copy by the Merchandise teams and freelance proofreaders + Collaborate with cross channel teams to maintain consistency between catalog, website and other consumer facing materials + Ensure readability and consistency of content/copy throughout the production process + Communicate necessary catalog information to Merchandising, Catalog Contact Center, Marketing and eCommerce groups + Participate in department and team meetings to stay up to date on all creative projects and weigh in as necessary + Collaborate with Product Merchandise teams to learn about new and continuing product each season What you’ll bring to the table… + Strong editing and proofreading skills + Attention to detail, strong organization and multitasking capabilities are a must + Strong self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively We’d love to hear from you if you have… + 4 years previous related experience + Strong background with editing and coordinating large projects, experience in journalism, marketing, advertising or a related field + Working knowledge of InDesign, InCopy, Google Docs, and Google Sheets + Knowledge of AP Style Minimum Starting Rate: $24.00 Hourly Up to: $32.00 Hourly Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
