This role in summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Copywriter specializing in Retail Activation for its in-house, award-winning creative agency and studio, WoW Studios. Our growing team of passionate and collaborative humans is focused on best-in-class advertising, storytelling, and consumer experience for all of Whirlpool’s brands including KitchenAid, Whirlpool, JennAir, Maytag, and Amana. We’re committed to increasing and elevating Whirlpool’s output of campaigns, content, design, experiences, and digital innovation across all consumer touchpoints (in-store, film, social, digital, experiential, etc). 

 

WoW Studios is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building at the edge of Chicago’s Riverwalk and at Whirlpool’s Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI.

This role is open to candidates in Chicago or Benton Harbor

Employees in this role work a hybrid schedule of four core days in-office with Friday remote.

 

In this role, you will concept and execute a range of shopper marketing ideas and executions that support the retail activation team across our entire portfolio of brands. Projects may include, but are not limited to:

Video/Animation for new and existing productsMessaging and content development for product launchDigital content for retailer platformsSocial content for retailer platformsRetailer specific programs

You will develop a deep understanding of our consumer decision journey within the retail landscape and navigate research, engineering and shopper insights to create compelling, on-brand product stories that transform cold metal boxes into essential household products. Your day to day will consist of solving a variety of creative challenges, handling multiple projects with a can-do attitude and actively seeking collaboration and feedback to make your work the best it can be.

Your responsibilities will include Collaborate closely with creative teams and with key brand/retail partners to support the development of creative content that meets brand/shopper strategy and drives purchase.Bring creative ideas to life across a wide scope of projects and through a variety of retail media–print, digital, and social touchpoints. Be a maestro of words to help drive the brand voice forward and realize the creative vision by writing and developing content to address purchase barriers.Reflect and express brand/retail strategies with breakthrough ideas and compelling content.Develop a deep knowledge of key retailers, the brands, the category and the future of home care to apply across all work.Articulate creative intent to others and proactively coordinate with partners and stakeholders to bring ideas to life.Participate in a collaborative working environment across creative disciplines and across the agency.Be a good human being that brings passion for the work and compassion for teammates. Minimum requirements

You must provide a link or attachment to your creative portfolio showcasing your work to be considered for this role

In addition to any other copywriting experience, at least 2+ years of shopper marketing and/or ecommerce content creation for established brands and national retailersExperience in a creative agency or in-house creative settingPreferred skills and experiences Enthusiasm for the retail media landscape and shopper marketing best practices Ability to accept feedback to continually improve workProblem-solving mentality; self-motivated and strong intuition about brand development and executionCollaborative, generous team player, ready to share ideas and build on the ideas of othersA problem solver and story-teller, who frames challenges in an interesting way and collaborate with teams to inspire unexpected ideasAbility to collaborate with teams to facilitate and achieve business goalsAbility to quickly analyze and synthesize a concept from idea to executionDriven to raise the bar, challenge the status quo, and experiment with approaches outside of their comfort zone to deliver results and create impact Bachelor’s Degree or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, a High School Diploma/GED and an Advertising Certification such as Creative, Copywriting, Advertising, or Art Direction from a portfolio schoolAdditional information
