Job Description
In this role you will play a key role in creating valuable, relevant, and consistent content for two prominent medical conferences: the PAINWeek Conference and the Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC).
As a versatile storyteller with a deep passion for healthcare and well-being, this role will report to and collaborate closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time. You will conduct thorough research to ensure content is both accurate and authentic, and will write across various platforms, including online, video, social media, digital, and print.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities
Develops original, engaging content tailored to our target audience.
Writes clear, compelling copy that effectively communicates key messages.
Conducts thorough, high-quality research to ensure content accuracy and originality.
Updates and refines existing content to align with evolving business objectives.
Creates and edits content across a wide range of communication channels, including letters, magazine articles, brochures, websites, blogs, email campaigns, video/audio scripts, social media, and both digital and print advertisements.
Contributes to special projects as required.
Performs other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
Daily:
Writing & Content Creation:
Write emails, including newsletters (1 per month per brand), blog promotions, exhibitor opportunities, call for abstracts/speakers, and live/enduring educational activities.
Write video descriptions for the website/YouTube and occasional video scripts for speaker promotions.
Write two blogs per week; during slower periods, build a content pipeline by repurposing sessions, webinars, and podcasts.
Write and edit social media copy for specific campaigns as needed.
Editing & Project Management:
Finalize and upload 100%-ready copy for approval.
Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks are designed, sent, and operational (e.g., codes/links functioning).
Cross-Function Collaboration:
Partner with marketing, programming, sales, and speakers to align strategies and fulfil requests.
Weekly:
Blog Management:
Publish blogs on content management systems (ie. Drupal and WordPress.)
Graphic Design Support:
Create memes for newsletters.
Collaborate with the marketing team on graphics, offering feedback based on user experience and industry best practices.
Campaign Development:
Brainstorm ideas (based on current trends and our data) to drive attendee engagement, sponsorships, and enduring education activities sales.
Contribute to or expand planned marketing initiatives.
Monthly:
Writing & Media:
Create partnership deliverables (letters, emails, slides).
Record video testimonials and promotional videos using Teams. Submit for editing, then review and provide feedback on edits.
Assist with various tasks, including writing ad copy, editing needs/gap assessments, reviewing video content to provide timestamps for editing, and developing surveys or interview questions.
Write press releases as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor websites and communication platforms for errors, broken links, or unclear messaging, and bring changes to the appropriate team member.
Branding:
Uphold copy guidelines and event branding standards.
Develop event messaging guides for each event.
Sales Team Support:
Generate and refine marketable ideas in collaboration with sales.
Provide sales support as needed (talking points, slides, etc.)
Speaker Collaboration:
Coordinate with speakers on collaboration opportunities, manage correspondence, schedule meetings, and oversee the preparation and delivery of required assets.
QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
Content Creation and Management: Skilled in producing and curating content for various channels, including digital, print, social media, and email campaigns.
Market Research and Analysis: Proficient in conducting market research to identify audience needs and trends, using data to drive content and marketing decisions.
Brand Positioning and Messaging: Experience in developing and maintaining consistent brand messaging that resonates with target audiences and strengthens market positioning.
Digital Marketing and SEO: Experience in digital marketing tactics, including SEO, social media management, and online advertising to increase visibility and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other standard office tools.
Experience with content creation and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
Proven ability to write compelling advertising copy and persuasive content across multiple platforms.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfortable working under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
A collaborative team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
Eagerness to continuously learn and grow professionally.
Medical writing experience is preferred.
The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 depending on experience
