Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you’re looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people’s lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.

In this position...
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Core Moveable Glass Systems Engineer to define and evolve the foundational engineering principles for our advanced moveable glass systems. In this critical role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining core system requirements, developing robust Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs), creating comprehensive design rules and guidelines, and driving innovation for future vehicle applications. You will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring that our core technologies for power windows, and other dynamic glass features are robust, scalable, and prepared for seamless integration into all future vehicle programs. Your work will directly enable best-in-class performance, quality, and customer experience across our product portfolio.

You'll have...

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.

5+ years of experience in automotive product development, with a strong focus on system engineering, requirements management, and/or quality methodologies for complex electro-mechanical systems (e.g., moveable glass, closures, seating mechanisms).

Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
Demonstrated experience in developing and owning core engineering documentation, such as system requirements, design specifications, or D/P-FMEAs.
Proven understanding of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., DFMEA, DVP&R, 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes relevant to moveable glass (e.g., stamping, injection molding, extrusion, glass forming).
Direct experience with moveable glass systems (e.g., sunroofs, power windows) at a systems or component level.
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama Connect) and PLM systems.
Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles as they apply to vehicle systems.
Knowledge of global automotive regulations and industry standards impacting glass systems.
Experience in developing and implementing engineering standards or design handbooks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with an emphasis on foundational system definition.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and influence long-term technical strategy.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
