Job Description:

The VMware Cloud Foundation Division enables organizations around the world to run their business critical and modern applications in a secure, resilient, and cost-efficient manner. With our flagship product VMware vSphere, and our industry-leading technologies including vSAN, VLR, NSX and Aria, Broadcom customers receive the scale and agility of a public cloud with the security and performance of a private cloud. 

The Storage and Data Protection group works on primary storage, secondary storage, hyperscaler storage, data protection, data services and recovery and is responsible for data in the VMware stack.

We are looking for multiple engineering roles in the following areas. Please indicate on your resume or cover letter which of the following areas best fit your experience.
 

Data Path Engineers:Deep working knowledge/expertise in C/C++Deep working knowledge in multithreading, IPC, socket, signals, etc programmingExpertise in Unix based systems and system level programming experienceExperience in distributed programming, multi-processor systems and kernel-level programming and debuggingKnowledge of storage protocols like SCSI and NVMe will be a plus 

Control Path Engineers:Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language like Java and PythonExperience in developing SaaS applications using Java/J2EE; experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks is a strong plusKnowledge in Kubernetes and containerization technologies; programming experience in Golang, C/C++ is preferredGood understanding of networking and application security concepts

UI Engineers:Experience in developing rich web applications using modern web frameworks such as AngularJS & ReactJSDeep working knowledge in web programming languages such as Javascript & TypescriptGood understanding of web application security conceptsGood grasp of usability and interaction design concepts

Quality Engineering:Deep working knowledge/expertise in CICD and Test frameworksStrong expertise in Product testing, Test Design Specification creation and Test AutomationHands on proficiency with Java/Python OO language and design experience along with exposure to storage systems Exposure to Test Driven Development practices

Preferred Qualifications/Expertise:

Bachelors / Masters / Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering with a minimum of 8 / 6 / 3 years of experience respectivelyExperience building distributed systems applicationsExperience dealing with scale, performance, and concurrency issuesStrong foundational knowledge in data structures and algorithms
