Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Program Details
The CORE (Corning Optical Rotational Engineering) Program provides graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on, broad experience by completing a rigorous one-year program consisting of four rotations across various operations and engineering functions. This entry-level program, with start dates in January, April, June, and September, is designed for graduates with no more than two years professional work experience. Each rotation is intentionally created to grow your business and technical expertise. Core pillars of the program include project work, experiential learning, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities.
During the interview process, the hiring team will work with you to match your experience and interests with one of two development tracks with a focus on (1) Manufacturing and Operations, also known as the “Make” track or 2) Innovation and Design, also known as the “Invent” track. Potential rotations include Production Team Leadership, Process Engineering, Division Engineering, Planning and Scheduling, Development, and Engineering Services. You will develop critical skills to accelerate your career and build your Corning network by collaborating with company leaders and teams across the organization. Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a full-time position at a Corning Optical location.

Required Education and Skills:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field must be obtained by the date of hire Willingness to travel within the US to multiple locations while completing rotation requirements Track record of academic achievements and/or professional performanceDesired Skills Previous engineering internship or relevant work experience Interest in a career path in innovation and design OR manufacturing and operations leadership Exhibits leadership potential or experience (academic, professional, or community) Displays problem solving, adaptability, time management and analytical skills Proven ability to communicate at varied levels in an organization or school Demonstrate continuous improvement in an academic or professional setting

The range for this position is $65,752.00 - $90,409.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
