The Corporate Security Investigator I is responsible for centralized security support and services for the Bank Operations Center and Branch locations, such as security equipment setup and maintenance, monitoring of branch vault and cash handling procedures, furnishing video footage and other investigation support, managing access control, and assisting in Bi-annual alarm testing. This entry level position primarily handles tasks of a more routine nature.
Key Responsibilities:
· Performs regular equipment checks of branch alarm, camera, and video recording systems from a centralized location to ensure proper functioning of equipment; initiates service requests and work orders as necessary.
· Monitors branch activity through camera systems to ensure vault and cash handling procedures are being followed; documents daily incidences and contacts branch managers to inform or instruct on the proper procedure.
· Ensure the office facility is provided with high quality security services to protect employees and property
· Assists security team members with other support tasks pertaining to video requests, security equipment setup and maintenance, access control, investigations, and safety and security services for the Operation Center.
· Performs other job related duties or special projects as assigned.
Competencies Required:
· Technical aptitude with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) and the ability to navigate various security systems and operate video surveillance and recording software and equipment (-March Video Systems, Alarm, Badge, and Vault Security Systems).
· Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
· Customer service orientation with strong verbal and written communications skills in order to communicate clearly with employees, authorities and customers; observe and report incidents; and direct others in emergency situations.
· Ability to pass a background check and possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
· Good time management and organization skills with strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
· Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures including verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, emergency situation protocols, and crisis intervention strategies.
· Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
· Flexibility to provide after hours and weekend support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
· 1-3 years of experience in banking, security, law enforcement, military police or related field required; or a college degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline.
Formal Education & Certification:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
· Two years post secondary education, or currently enrolled, in a security, law enforcement, or criminal justice undergraduate degree program preferred.
· First responder certification preferred.
Work Status:
· Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility:
· None.
Travel:
· 0% - Negligible amount of travel expected.
Working Conditions:
· Conditions involve tasks requiring prolonged periods of selective attention, close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus; sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, running, climbing stairs or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting, carrying, loading or unloading equipment and other materials up to fifty pounds. May be required to operate a motor vehicle for the performance of duties.
