Corporate Accountant

Looking for an Accounting professional that has large corporate experience handling business property tax returns, with a solid accounting background. In this role, you will assist with annual business licenses, property tax preparation, set up recurring entries and accumulation/submission of tax exemption certificates from recent acquisitions.

Contract Duration: 4 months



Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in accounting

3+ years of experience as staff accountant

Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general ledger accounting

PeopleSoft experience preferred

Strong analytical skills

Problem solving abilities

Detail oriented

Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel

Excellent oral/written communication skills

Strong work ethic

Team player

 

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports. Records journal entries, performs variance analysis and account reconciliations. Processes reports to support account details and assists field personnel with issues and questions.

Support managers and controller taking ownership various task, which may include:

Accounting for Stores, Support Centers, and Division offices.

Verify and files personal property tax returns completed by E&Y

Processes TAMS billings and reconciliations.

Manage monthly accrual entries

Bank reconciliations

Prepaid expense reconciliations

Assist with new store/renumbering process

Load and balance forecast

Training, documenting and updating process and procedures for staff

Ensures general ledger accounts maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted

Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Journal entry preparation and entry

Performs account reconciliations

Assists field personnel with account analysis and research

Evaluates trends, identifies, and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances

Generates daily and monthly reports to assist in above duties

Makes recommendations to resolve issues and makes corrections, as necessary

Assists with monthly close process

Performs other accounting research as needed
