Corporate Accounting Manager

Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the monthly and annual close process in conformity with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other reporting requirements. This position exercises a high degree of judgment, analysis and innovative problem solving and will maintain high standards for effective and efficient department practices, processes and controls.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including (but not limited to) gathering, analyzing and interpreting financial data; preparation of and posting of journal entries; performing accounting reconciliations and account analyses; and ensuring that general ledger closing procedures for assigned areas are completed timely and accurately.

Reconcile and analyze monthly account balances and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); and provide technical support to staff, management and subsidiaries for GAAP interpretations.

Foster strong internal control and compliance environment within the company.

Coordinate the implementation of new accounting processes.

Assist with year-end external audit including (but not limited to) preparation of audit schedules; addressing on-going audit inquiries in a timely and efficient manner; and preparing supporting documentation for financial statement footnote disclosures.

Gather and calculate data associated with the preparation of various routine and special financial statements and reports.

Provide support or leadership for other audit activities such as grant audits, benefit plan audits, or other compliance activities.

Maintain intermediate knowledge and awareness of financial/accounting industry status and trends.

Coordinate the implementation of new accounting processes, focusing on continuous improvements and efficiencies, including workflows between entities.

Respond to inquiries or refer inquiries to the appropriate department or person while ensuring follow through with any related staff and/or companies.

Follow policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks correctly and on time.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in Accounting or Finance is required.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive or relevant work experience in accounting, financial analysis, and/or audit experience.

Ability to pass background and credit check.

Strong attention to

Comfortable working in a fluid environment; ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment that may have aggressive deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning all financial records.

Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Requirements

CPA preferred and public accounting experience is desirable

Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos reporting system

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of software programs used in emails, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.

The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving, interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Description of environment: Hybrid - Office building with standard office environment with remote work option.

Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
