Benefits & Perks:100% paid benefits3 or 4 weeks vacationGym, restaurants and walking paths nearbyResponsibilities:Prepare, draft, and revise documents for various commercial transactions, including commercial lending, the purchase/sale of commercial properties; the purchase and sale of businesses (assets/shares), and commercial leasesOrganize and prepare closing booksLiaise with firm lawyers, paralegals, clients, and external parties/stakeholdersConduct and report on due diligence searches for various commercial transactionsManage a portfolio of assigned files for corporate commercial lawyers, ensuring timely and accurate completion of multiple deadlines and limitationsManage lawyer calendars and appointmentsReport to lenders, lenders’ solicitors, and clients, and prepare accounts and trust account statementsReceive and process trust funds by firm proceduresIndependently draft routine correspondence and communicate with clients when appropriateQualifications:
Diploma in paralegal studies or equivalentA minimum of 5 years of experience in a Commercial paralegal roleExperience working with Land Titles/SPIN, Alberta Personal Property Registry, Corporate Registry, and obtaining due diligence searches etc.Strong team player with the ability to work independentlyExercises good judgment with high accuracy and attention to detailPossesses excellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly motivated, self-directed, and capable of prioritizing and handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and professional environment
