We’re looking for an energetic communications professional to join us in assisting the Corporate Communications function. In this role, you will help enhance and protect Stripe’s reputation with the business media, online commentators, and other audiences that shape the conversation about Stripe.
What you’ll doWe’re seeking an ambitious and deeply curious communications professional to join our Corporate Communications team in this early-career role. We’re looking for a self-starter who is knowledgeable about the current media landscape, capable of surfacing creative communications ideas and opportunities for Stripe to pursue, and thrives off of building connections with others. The ideal candidate should be organized, interested in learning how to handle media inquiries, incidents and crises, and excited to develop a deep understanding of Stripe’s users, products, and business.
Responsibilities Monitor the media and influencer landscape, help create media plans for Stripe’s biggest corporate moments and manage media inquiries in partnership with other members of the Corporate Communications team. Work cross-functionally to manage the review process for communications plans and messaging. Research and provide recommendations on where members of the Stripe team should engage externally, including conferences, speaking engagements, and more. Provide content support to the global communications team, drafting external-facing materials to align with comms initiatives and launches. Organize and maintain key communications assets including core narrative materials, Q&A responses, and key data we use regularly. Support reactive responses to reputational issues. Minimum requirements Stellar verbal communication, writing, and editing skills; in particular, an ability to understand, synthesize, and articulate complex and technically sophisticated topics Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time experience in public relations, communications, or journalism Exceptional organizational and project management skills; excellent relationship-management ability Strong understanding of the media landscape and an insatiable consumer of news Energetic self-starter and constant learner who is proactive, resourceful, and works effectively in a collaborative environment Ability to work well under pressure; anticipate and adapt to changing priorities; and effectively manage multiple important tasks on tight deadlines Preferred qualifications Experience working with senior executives as well as influencers, online commentators, and members of the media Working in a technology and/or B2B environment
