Corporate Communications Specialist

Position Overview

With so much taking shape at Yahoo and an immense opportunity to share our story, the Yahoo Communications team is looking for a creative and energetic communications coordinator to promote the company’s brand and protect its reputation during our transformation journey. This individual will participate in projects with cross-functional teams including Corporate Development, People, Diversity & Culture, Finance, and The Paranoids, among others. 

We are looking for a creative and strategic thinker with a strong understanding of corporate communications and PR. The Coordinator reports to the Corporate Communications Director, operating in close coordination with the global communications team.  

Responsibilities of the Corporate Communications Coordinator:

Develop and implement strategic communication plans to promote the brand story of Yahoo

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels

Partner with the PR agency to research, update and maintain trade and business editorial, awards, and events calendars. Help prepare and submit corporate and executive awards entries.

Help manage the company's Speaker Central platform by conducting comprehensive research of industry conferences and speaking opportunities. Help coordinate and prep executives for appearances at industry and press events. 

Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in order to anticipate potential communication opportunities or challenges

Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and other communications materials

Monitor and analyze media coverage and provide reports to leadership on key performance metrics

Qualifications:

3-5 years of relevant communications and/or public relations experience in an agency or in-house role 

Exceptional written communication skills with an emphasis on strong copywriting and editing

Ability to maintain full confidentiality on sensitive topics

Strong attention to detail and highly organized with a proven ability to meet stringent deadlines; flexibility to manage changing requirements with short turnaround time.

Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels

Flexible approach to working as part of a global team

Someone with a sense of humor who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help build our growing function 

Media relations experience.

Interest in AI, finance, insurance, and/or emerging technologies is a plus.

The compensation for this position ranges from $56,250.00 - $117,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
