This is an entry-level attorney role in the Legal Department, reporting to a Senior Counsel or Associate General Counsel. **What You'll be Doing:** Provides legal advice to the business areas designated by first assistant (with approval of Senior VP-General Counsel) including: + Advise business teams on the legal implications of business decisions. + Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to the assigned business area. + Review, interpret and advise business teams on contractual obligations. + Monitor and analyze impact of pending and existing laws and regulations relevant to the assigned business area and communicate impact to the business teams. + Collaborate with team members in the Legal Department and other areas of the Company, as needed. + Develop training, processes and forms to support business needs and efficiencies. + Work with outside legal counsel, as needed. + This job profile is not meant to be all inclusive of the responsibilities of this position; may perform other duties as assigned or required. **What You Bring With You (Qualifications):** + Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school required + Michigan licensed or willingness to become licensed in Michigan + 2-3 years at a major law firm or large corporation providing legal advice regarding key aspects of real estate acquisitions, property dispositions, and strategic corporate growth initiatives + Ability to manage multiple internal stakeholders and balance differing opinions and perspectives + Proven success in managing multiple tasks and priorities + Strong verbal and analytical skills + Exceptional interpersonal skills + Highly team-oriented + Flexibility as to the types of projects assigned + Solid business acumen We opened our doors more than 90 years ago with the goal of helping people provide for themselves and their family.
