The Corporate Debt Finance group is searching for an Analyst to work in the Charlotte, NC office.
This Analyst position will be supporting senior members of the Corporate Credit Team (CCT) within Corporate Debt Finance (CDF) in Wells Fargo’s Structured Products Group (SPG). Corporate Debt Finance provides capital to asset managers and other non-bank financial institutions through structured credit facilities and collateralized loan obligations. The Corporate Credit Team consists of leveraged loan professionals who are responsible for client due diligence, assistance with direct lending market research, and credit analysis of leveraged loan investments that form collateral for financing extended to CDF’s clients.
In this role you will:Support senior team members in their credit analysis of corporate loans and processing approvals for CLO warehouse facilities.
Review financial statements and track historical financial performance of underlying companies
Maintain the team’s database and various spreadsheets for internal reporting
Assist with team’s portfolio management activities
Review performance trends of collateral
Liaise with clients as required
Develop opinions on loans with a view of denying/approving funding against that collateral and present analysis and opinion to senior team members and credit officers
Required Qualifications, US:
6+ months of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in an investment/corporate banking, portfolio management or credit underwriting role
Completion of, or current enrollment in, a formal corporate credit training program is a plus
Computing skills, particularly advanced Excel knowledge (VBA, macro writing, pivot tables, task simplification and automation etc.) or broader data/process automation (PowerBI, Alteryx, Power Query)
Strong technical and analytical skills including financial analysis
Knowledge of investment banking and capital markets products
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills with a strong attention to detail
Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
