Position Summary/General Description:

The Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing severs on the Executive Team and provides leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing functions throughout LDC and its subsidiaries. The Incumbent develops and implement sales and marketing strategy, monitors and analyzes sales and marketing activity against goals.  The incumbent provides general overall responsibility for the marketing, advertising and promotions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

In conjunction with Executive Team, plans, develops and executes strategic plans to advance company’s missions and objectives, effective policy and promote revenue profitability and growth as an organization. Works collaboratively with all members of Executive Team to prepare materials and assist with editing all company public/external communications. Has primary responsibility for creating and maintaining the company’s brand image including LDC and brands under Fuego, the Route 66, and Dancing Eagle campuses. Responsible for content on all company websites, social media and employee communication vehicles. Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual marketing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Serves in a consultative role with General Managers, Corporate Directors, and Marketing Directors/Managers to create and execute strategic and tactical planning for the purpose of achieving revenue goals including but not limited to gaming, food & beverage, hotel, entertainment and retail venues. Will provide guidance, create marketing standards and audits for all subsidiary operations. Serves as company’s primary media contact and spokesperson. Must be able to speak extemporaneously and have experience with media inquiries, preparation of media materials and media interviews. Studies long-range economic trends and forecasts company prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new venues.  Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Develops and maintains marketing budget with the Chief Operating Officer. Consults and assists all marketing staff in directing advertising agency in development of creative, advertising and collateral. Has primary responsibility for public relations, public donations and sponsorships. Works with Corporate Legal Counsel on political activities to further LDC’s best interests. Manages and oversees major corporate sponsorships e.g. University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University and New Mexico Athletic Association. Makes best effort to volunteer for community activities and serve on boards or commissions for the benefit of the community of Laguna and/or the state of New Mexico. Calculate figures, numbers and project estimates and/or make financial calculations. Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Participates in and facilitate group meetings. Make analytical and professional decisions confidently and accurately. Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests from arrival to the property through departure; and provide fast and friendly service to guests). Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit). At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors). Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications or other applicable fields required, Master’s Degree preferred. Not less than 10 years relevant work experience in an executive level marketing position may substitute Bachelor’s degree when appropriate based on industry standard. 10-15 years’ work experience in sales and marketing, and demonstration of executive competencies: EBITDA responsibilities; Decision making;                 Strategic thinking;              Ability to influence; Vision & Alignment; Exceptional leadership and motivational skills; Outstanding communication skills. Knowledge of casino operations.

Licensing & Certification:

None.

Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiar with casino player tracking systems.

Essential Physical Requirements: 

Requires employee to hear, sit, talk, read, and repetitive use of hands the 51-100% of the time. Requires employee to stand, walk, drive, less than 25% of the time. Balancing/climbing, bending over, crawling, crouching/stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead, turning twisting, pushing/pulling, lifting, carrying 1-50+lbs 0% of the time.

Essential Mental Demands:

The position requires problem solving, organizing, planning, decision making, interpreting data, math skills, reading and writing 90-100% of the time.

Work Environment (inside/outside):

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. However, position will occasionally require work outside primary office setting at other LDC venues as well as at vendor locations and events.

Other Requirements:
