Job Summary
The Corporate Engineer supports Avient globally in the areas of project management, program support, manufacturing and continuous improvement / change management. Collaboration across businesses (manufacturing) and corporate functions (EHS, LSS, sourcing, IT) will be required to drive improvements in areas of engineering standards, program implementation, capital project management, and other areas of project need.
Essential Functions
· Collaborate across businesses and regions for engineering best practice development and implementation.
· Coordination of enterprise-wide strategic projects and programs.
· MES engineering support includes leading monthly Governance Council calls, cross business support and special projects.
· Liaison to sourcing relating to processing equipment and instrumentation / electrical – with a view to driving standardization.
· Support development of reporting in the analytics space.
· Leverage data and systems to identify and drive projects to improvement manufacturing operational efficiency.
· Work with the businesses and corporate sourcing to develop standards for operations selection of equipment and instrumentation.
· Support Engineering Early Talent programs (ELDP) which includes recruiting, training and ongoing development.
· Lead special projects across businesses.
· Manage or oversee special capital projects as needed.
· This role supports the Director Manufacturing Improvement and will support other strategic imperatives including Engineering Early Talent program support, lean manufacturing and other initiatives as required.

Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering
· Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing with project management experience
· Experience in Lean Six Sigma with Black Belt certification preferred.

· Ability to put structure and discipline around defined processes.
· Project management skills including time management, planning, resource tracking, and data summarization, budgeting, and establishing workflow.
· Detail oriented and able to manage milestones and deadlines.
· Results driven, flexible, and able to lead and influence across a matrix organization.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate within a global organization.
· Strong computer skills especially with spreadsheet applications (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Access). SAP knowledge a plus.
· Observant and thorough while auditing to identify critical issues needing attention and opportunities for improvement.
· Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
· Ability to use statistical techniques and identify which ones are appropriate under various scenarios
