Summary of the job
Assume a leadership role in selected M&A, Divestiture, Joint Ventures and Strategic Capital Investment projects directing the efforts of cross-functional teams (including external subject matter experts) and the negotiations with external stakeholders to reach successful transactional outcomes for the benefit of CAE’s shareholders. Lead the integration efforts of transactions successfully closed.
Support a project portfolio of global strategic corporate investments in each of CAE’s Business units assuming the leadership within the Finance and Accounting department for the development of business cases specifically but not limited to financial modelling, taxation issues, treasury matters and accounting treatment. Ensure adherence to corporate governance.
Essential duties and responsabilities:
+ Manage a project portfolio of global corporate investments and structured transactions including quality assurance, customer facing negotiations, etc.
+ Lead a portfolio of M&A projects.
+ Contribute to the management of the department and the process improvement activities.
+ Negotiation of complex business transactions including support to the drafting of legal documentation.
+ Leading a team of financial analysts and cross-functional managers as they are assigned on a project-basis to the portfolio of projects under management.
Qualifications & skills
+ B Comm and post graduate (CFA, CBV, CA, MSC Finance, MBA, etc.)
+ A minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience.
+ Business Acumen, Strong Negotiation Skills, Transaction Structuring, Ease with Legal Documentation, Ability to interact with others and motivate a cross-functional team, Dealing with high degree of stress. In-depth knowledge of Capital Structures and Financing Instruments.
+ Creativity to develop unconventional solutions to complex business issues.
+ Sound and rational business decision making.
+ Projects are international and will at times require travel (15-25%)
+ Expert inter-personal relationships.
+ Proficient verbal and written communication in English and French
