As the Corporate Finance Technology Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a high-performing team. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding staff who support the design, development, and testing of complex business systems to meet user needs. Serving as a subject matter expert in lean agile methodologies, you will mentor and coach your team to improve automation, flow metrics, and productivity. Additionally, your strong operational management experience will ensure best-in-class system health support and controls. This role focuses on finance technology for Corporate Finance at Vanguard, supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Procurement functions as key business clients.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing team: Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to develop crew members. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
Operational management: Lead a team responsible for identifying issues, analyzing the scope and impact of defects, documenting deficiencies, and determining impact. Proactively analyze business and user needs and identify, evaluate, and develop complex information systems to meet business requirements. Provide insight on the business implications of technology systems.
Provide senior level consulting services to internal business groups on process improvement projects designed to improve their business results. Formulate and define the systems scope and objectives, based on user needs and industry requirements.
Apply deep understanding of business needs to direct process improvement projects for internal business groups, aiming to improve key business results. Lead the design and testing of new or enhanced applications that align to the overall business technology strategy
Lead the implementation of business systems and software. Analyze, define, and document existing systems logic challenges, and revise to address business issues.
Monitor user experiences and feedback on the use of business applications, and make improvements to system productivity, as needed. Lead the collection, documentation, and maintenance of functional requirements and modeling
Guide and advise crew on business technology best practices.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years related work experience within a corporate finance team; three (3) years’ experience within business technology preferred.
Experience in hiring, evaluating, and supervising staff. Skilled in training, mentoring, and making compensation decisions.
Strong operational management skills. Ability to analyze business needs, develop information systems, and understand technology's business impact.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience with agile, lean, and scrum methodologies is highly valued and will be beneficial in this role.
Experience with Oracle and AWS is preferred.
