Corporate Governance Research - Analyst/Associate

Overview

ISS STOXX is growing! We are looking for a Research Associate to join the ISS Research Team. If you want to learn, climb, and shine at a company committed to you, then ISS might be the best move you'll ever make. In this role, you'll analyze proxy statements to complete proxy analyses for shareholders' meetings of publicly traded companies covered by ISS. This position will be based in Ayala North Exchange and report to the research lead handling a specific market.

 

Responsibilities

Distill financial and corporate governance information to write research reports and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS' policy guidelines

Develop an understanding of sustainability, environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues

Build knowledge of governance issues, including the board of directors, shareholder rights, audit issues, compensation, and corporate transactions

Answer internal and external queries on research analyses, and discuss policies and vote recommendations as appropriate

Actively participate in the ISS policy formulation and various working committees and/or special projects

Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help develop, maintain, and enhance methodologies – both for the team's new and existing products and services

Perform other research-related work and duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, Legal Management, or a related field of study

1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in ESG, corporate governance, sustainability research, or consulting area

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, organization skills, a dedicated work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and communicate with various internal parties

Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks (approx. March through June)

Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
