Corporate Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Our client is looking to hire a Corporate Legal Assistant / Paralegal. Our client, a top boutique law firm in Edmonton, is looking to hire a motivated Corporate Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support their team in corporate and commercial transactions.

Tasks:
Administrative Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and act as a liaison when lawyers are unavailable.Manage deadlines, limitations, and filing requirements.Handle file management, including opening, maintaining, and closing files, as well as updating the CRM.Prepare engagement letters, transaction documents, correspondence, presentations, organization charts, spreadsheets, and reports.Corporate/Tax Responsibilities:Process online filings with the Corporate Registry (e.g., incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, continuations, dissolutions). CORES Level I, II or III preferred.Draft legal documents for corporate and tax transactions, including incorporation and amalgamation agreements.Conduct Land Titles and Personal Property searches/registrations.Review and maintain Minute Books, preparing annual resolutions and filings.Ensure corporate governance compliance by reviewing corporate records and verifying company details.Prepare and finalize Closing Books and transaction-related documentation.Conduct corporate and regulatory searches (Corporate Registry, Land Titles, NUANS, etc.).Register corporations for GST.Draft and finalize reporting letters and memorandums.Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of a recognized legal assistant program.Experience: Minimum 3 years of corporate legal experience in a law firm setting.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software.Organizational Skills: Ability to efficiently manage both physical and electronic files.Client-focused: A strong commitment to delivering outstanding service to both internal and external clients.Team Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with lawyers, staff, and clients.Growth-oriented: Enthusiastic about continuous learning and professional development.
