About the Role
As Corporate Paralegal, you will support the corporate legal team by monitoring, organizing and assisting in the handling of various corporate transactional matters.
What You’ll Do
Work with supervising attorneys and act as primary contact, as appropriate, on various corporate legal matters, including corporate transactions, information technology, finance, product safety, regulatory compliance, and other matters as assigned
Assist attorneys in the tracking, investigating and addressing inquiries received from governmental agencies, customers and third parties concerning a wide-range of topics, including licensing and other consumer product issues
Handle discrete or ongoing projects of a corporate legal nature as assigned from time-to-time
Facilitate the execution of contracts involving Kohl's standard contract forms
Assist attorneys in reviewing, drafting, negotiating and tracking other assigned contracts
Assist in maintaining and updating Kohl's standard contract forms and developing business communications to streamline the contracting process
Conduct a variety of legal research, including statutory, case law, administrative and intellectual-property specific laws
Summarize legal research in a manner, format and timeline requested by the supervising attorney
What Skills You Have
Required
Working knowledge of contract provisions and corresponding ability to read, analyze and understand complex legal documentation
Skills to complete complex legal research assignments and ability to effectively summarize findings, present ideas and provide recommendations
Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and ability to work effectively with others as part of a team
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, exercise flexibility and work independently with minimal direction
Highest level of discretion, sensitivity and integrity in handling confidential information
Professional, highly organized and detail-oriented
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Preferred
Paralegal certificate or equivalent education or training
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail).
Proficiency with Westlaw, Practical Law and other available online legal resources
