The Corporate Paralegal is a member of the legal department and collaborates with QTS business owners, managers, and other members of the legal team. This resource will handle a variety of corporate tasks and have responsibilities that are essential to the legal team’s success.  The Corporate Paralegal has strong written and oral communication skills, great attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.  Ingenuity and initiative are needed to provide professional legal support to the legal team and departments throughout QTS.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Maintain accurate and complete records and files on internal databases, SharePoint and OneDrive

Collect and collate information required from various sources in order to centralize and streamline key templates, policies, and procedures

Prepare, draft, and maintain legal templates, legal correspondence, policies, presentations, procedures, and other materials

Manage new hire onboarding process; suggest and implement improvements

Assist legal team managers with new hire onboarding and training

Manage the legal email mailbox by responding to all inquiries, routing to appropriate personnel, or assigning tasks as needed

Manage legal holds and assist with various litigation matters

Manage insurance claims related to litigation matters

Assist with legal department invoice processing and budget

Assist with preparation and maintenance of corporate records, US and international

Conduct legal research and analysis as required to support ongoing projects and initiatives

Assist Tax Department with customer information related correspondence projects

Assist Legal Operations Manager on various projects and new initiatives

Suggest and implement process improvement

Assist legal team with other duties and projects, as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience

Three or more years of professional experience as paralegal or in legal related field - preferably in an in house corporate setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting that requires a highly accurate and timely work product

Excellent listening, written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills

Entity management experience is a plus

Ability to learn ERP systems

Excels in a team-oriented work environment

Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines

Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), OneDrive, SharePoint and DocuSign

Excellent analytical and time-management skills

Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently

Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality 

Possess ambition and an optimistic attitude
