Job Description

The opportunity

This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing corporate development initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives and help develop strong leadership. The role will also outline the implementation strategy for the business plan. This involves engaging in exercises, activities, and training to establish broad operating principles and strategic actions necessary for executing the business plan. The principles and actions outlined in the corporate plan are critical for realizing the business plan's objectives and visualizing the steps the organization has to take internally to get there.


Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment

The corporate strategic planning process evaluates the company's resources and identifies gaps that must be filled to drive business results. These could be gaps within tangible resources (inventory, technology, or headcount) or intangible resources (institutional knowledge or role-specific skills). Lead the creation of the company's development roadmap for key leaders and the management team.Lead cross-functional discussions and decisions needed to confirm key actions with the right stakeholders and measures of success.Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate development strategy aligned with the organization's goals and values. Assess the effectiveness of the plan through the programs and recommend continuous improvement.

Applying Data

Use data and insights to drive strategic thinking and decision-making.Support key leaders in facilitating discussions, prioritization, and recommendations for key business plans.

Operational planning in the business plan

Lays out the actions you’ll need to take internally to reach those goals. Within the operational plan, you’ll assign individual people to take ownership of those actions. 

Leading Innovation

Additionally, bringing employees into the process to identify how they can support the business strategy often results in creative solutions to challenging problems. Employee innovations can be standardized and fed into the next round of corporate planning. Stay current on industry best practices and trends in strategic development and incorporate new ideas into the program.Build relationships with external providers, consultants, and industry experts to enhance the corporate plans and development programs.

Driving Accountability for Results

Design and deliver corporate plans and development programs that will allow the organization to achieve critical business objectives through empowered key leaders and management teams.Collaborate with senior leaders to identify corporate development needs and create targeted plans.Provide guidance and mentorship to internal resources to ensure high-quality delivery of strategic development initiatives.

What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on business/administration, MBA or relevant master's degree is a plus.10+ years of experience in organization planning and development, management and execution, or related roles.Proven track record of designing and delivering successful programs.Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.Strategic thinking, relationship building, and influencing skillsAbility to build strong relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.Leadership development expertise, with experience in managing teams and driving cross-functional collaborationData analysis and evaluation, change managementTeam leadership, continuous learning, and innovation
