**Description**
The Corporate Purchaser will manage and oversee all procurement activities related to general conditions and site setup materials for construction projects.
This role spans the entire project life cycle, ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and leased equipment. The Corporate Purchaser will establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure timely shipment and delivery to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in procurement, proven leadership and negotiation expertise, and a understanding of the operational needs of construction sites.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage the procurement process for general conditions and site setup materials across all construction projects.
+ Oversee the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and leased equipment to support project requirements.
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure consistent quality and delivery.
+ Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
+ Monitor and manage the procurement life cycle to ensure timely shipment and delivery of materials to project sites.
+ Collaborate with project managers and site teams to understand project timelines, budgets, and material needs.
+ Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
+ Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
+ Track, review, and report on procurement activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and company objectives.
+ Resolve vendor disputes, delivery issues, or quality concerns in a timely and effective manner.
+ Stay informed about industry trends, construction site requirements, and advancements in materials or equipment to enhance procurement strategies.
+ Perform commercial bid evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate technical evaluations and recommendations to procurement manager and senior purchaser.
+ Prepare purchase order documents and enter purchase order information into online purchasing application.
+ Source and qualify potential suppliers to provide required goods and services.
+ Communicate and address procurement issues with appropriate parties, including management.
+ Prepare equipment, materials, and subcontracts forms and reports.
+ Compile "Request for Proposal" (RFP) documents including documents/drawings/specifications provided by the internal client.
+ Receive, log, distribute, tabulate, and analyze proposals. Make recommendations for purchasing needs for contracts.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction, Law or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
+ A minimum of 3 years direct purchasing experience.
+ Project purchasing experience preferred.
+ C.P.M. or CPSM certification preferred.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to effectively negotiate.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office.
+ Oracle Financial R12 software experience preferred.
+ Proven ability of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
+ Experience in devising new approaches to purchasing problems encountered.
