The Corporate Recruiter - Military Services is responsible for developing and administering corporate recruitment strategies to acquire and retain top talent, partnering with management through the hiring process and working with the Marketing department to create recruiting materials that support company brand. In addition, this position will identify and participate in effective outreach efforts, frequently traveling for Duncan Aviation, to attend military specific career fairs and TAP Classes as well as general Career Fairs and other Aviation Technical Career fairs & employment events at aviation schools, high schools & community partner programs in alignment with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action compliance programs and the organization’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

What Success Looks Like: Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers and team members across various departments. Collaborate closely to understand hiring needs, provide guidance based on industry best practices, and ensure alignment between recruitment & organizational goals Outreach & Engagement: Identify, build & maintain connections with Local & National Military Installations, Aviation Maintenance programs, STEM institutions & local community partners/organizations to attract talent to Duncan Aviation. Actively participate in on-site/in-person career fairs, industry events, aviation/maintenance conferences and various networking opportunities to promote Duncan Aviation as an employer of choice Technical Recruiting: Identify recruiting opportunities & focus highly on skilled/technical recruiting within the military & aviation industry. Identify skills & careers outside of the aviation industry that provide similar qualifications & candidates while learning aviation industry requirements and expertise through team members, industry professionals & Duncan Aviation best practices. Networking: Identify opportunities to present Duncan Aviation as an employer of choice to local community networks/organizations/resources and identify additional opportunities for Duncan Aviation to be represented and known in the community. Utilize current partnerships and identify new programs/groups that Duncan Aviation Team Members, Managers or Recruiting can be involved in to better serve candidates in our communities
Essential Job Functions: Develops and implements a comprehensive veteran recruitment strategy that supports the company’s immediate and long-term human capital and talent management goals and aligns with the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Coordinates veteran recruitment efforts and events. Regularly travel to military bases/events, colleges/technical schools, high schools, recruiting events, etc. to promote Duncan Aviation employment opportunities to a diverse population of potential applicants. Develops and fosters relationships with college instructors and placement office personnel, military transition officers, high school career counselors, etc. to promote Duncan Aviation careers. Meets regularly with department management to evaluate recruiting efforts, identify barriers, redirect activities, and/or initiate new activities to accomplish established staffing goals and objectives. Directly sources applicants using various tools and technology to establish a talent pipeline. Performs applicant prescreening and participates in interviewing and selection processes as requested. Partners with others on the Recruiting team as well as the Applicant Tracking System vendor to ensure maximized use of the software as an engagement, recruitment and selection tool. Coordinates with the Marketing department to develop appealing recruiting promotional items that are attractive to a diverse audience and ensures that all support the company brand. This may include the Duncan Aviation Careers website, recruitment-oriented social media, recruitment promotional media and materials, displays, etc. Collaborates with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) Coordinator to determine outreach needs in compliance with the identified programs. Regularly participates in identified outreach efforts through position postings, career fairs and other recruiting events. Tracks effectiveness of each outreach effort and reports results to the EEO/AAP Coordinator. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements: Licenses/Certificates: N/A Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required Travel: This role entails regular travel, averaging approximately 60-70% of working time. Typical travel arrangements involve partial week commitments, encompassing travel days, attendance at career fairs/events, and on-site presence in facilities throughout the week. Physical: Occasionally lifts 50 lbs.; repetitive motion; tolerates standing, walking, bending and sitting; Proficient typing and data entry skills; regular multiple night travel Environmental: N/A
Education and Experience: Previous Military Experience is required for this role Previous recruiting experience is preferred, encompassing essential tasks such as: Managing requisitions Conducting candidate pre-screening through phone screens, virtual interviews & in-person conversations Representing the company at on-site presentations and career fairs at military bases, aviation technical schools and local outreach events Participating on interview panels and the selection process Adeptly sourcing qualified candidates through various channels including ATS, other resume databases, job boards and social networking platforms Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent preferred Understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems and their functionality preferred Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) required Previous aviation maintenance experience preferred
