The role you’ll contribute:
The Privacy Analyst supports and reports to the Privacy Manager in the management of AdventHealth’s privacy program. As part of the Privacy team, the Privacy Analyst works to conduct privacy investigations, perform audits, manage routine tasks, contribute to special project assignments, and facilitate educational sessions as directed. The Privacy Analyst will assist and manage various tasks necessary to ensure AdventHealth's ongoing compliance with the federal and state privacy and data protection laws and regulations and AdventHealth's policies and procedures. The Privacy Analyst must deliver outstanding customer service and accept responsibility for maintaining respectful and professional relationships at all times.

Responsible for initial screening of, timely investigation and triaging, as appropriate, of assigned privacy matters, including potential inappropriate access by an unauthorized party, misuse, and loss of sensitive data. This includes conducting thorough and comprehensive investigations, including data gathering, analyses, interviews and summarizing the results in report form at the direction of the Privacy Manager.
Investigative responsibilities include conducting data analysis and interviews to inform the investigative process, performing detailed analyses of investigative findings, and summarizing the findings in an investigative report, conducting a standard breach risk assessment for each investigation, and following the appropriate steps to complete the investigation.
Provide support to Corporate Responsibility leadership and Privacy Manager in meeting federal and state reporting requirements, including the Office for Civil Rights, regarding breach notification and follow-up investigations.
Maintain timely and complete updates in the applicable incident management system.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Ability to effectively communicate, engage and obtain information from all levels of job classes within the system, and persons outside of the system such as patients, patients' family members, law enforcement officials, or regulators.
· Strong knowledge of healthcare privacy laws and regulations to include the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act and other state and federal privacy laws.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong ability to assess, analyze, interpret, and report data, metrics, and trends.
· Ability to conduct and supervise audits and investigations and document findings.
· Ability to evaluate, audit and investigate findings to determine compliance with policy and regulations.
· Ability to effectively handle patient concerns.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, etc.).
· Ability to work with a variety of software programs including but not limited to; Protenus, Key Light and Navex EthicsPoint (or similar compliance monitoring and tracking systems).
· Adept at collaborating with other departments including operations, clinical, financial, and administration.
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employees, patients, and company information.
· Ability to recognize a high standard of ethics in business operations.
· Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
· Familiarity with Epic EMR
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Minimum one to two years in HIPAA health care privacy experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Certification in health care privacy (CHPC) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) obtained within first year.
LICENSURE , CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
· Existing certification in health care privacy (CHPC) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
