Corporate Responsibility Program Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Manages the identification and assessment of risk (CRA, Fair Lending, and Responsible Banking) and the execution of CRA programs to support the Bank's compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards. Leads engagement with managers within the Corporate Responsibility Office (CRO), Bancorp, and National/Regional Community Organizations to execute enterprise-wide programs to drive impact and close gaps in CRA lending, investment, and service performance. This role also works within department and cross-department teams.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage execution of programs that align with our Corporate Responsibility Bancorp strategy: (a) Develop project plans and updates; (b) Manage overall project execution, which includes but is not limited to marketing, operations, reporting, budget, account management, policies and procedures; (c) Manage project tasks within agreed upon timeframes; (d) Identify issues and roadblocks in a timely manner and work through those issues to reach an acceptable outcome.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies by partnering to optimize relationships while mitigating reputational and operational risks.

Develop site visit reports and support the development of Annual Risk Assessments.

Identify potential areas of operational vulnerability and risk; direct activities to ensure the development and implementation of corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid similar situations in the future. Elevate all high-risk areas to the leadership team when applicable.

Analyze operational and financial data to identify and evaluate areas of existing and emerging risk. Proactively manage to the results of any findings identified.

Build partnerships and relationships with national, regional and local community-based organizations, non-profits and financial intermediaries and represent the Bank on various non-profit, community development organizations.

Manage efforts with both internal and external partners impacted by the project.

Captures information to assist in development of additional reports as needed.

Establish, foster, and maintain working relationships with peers and managers within CRO, Bancorp, Lines of Businesses, etc.

Actively lead/participate in regular meetings with peers to build and maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risk in programs.

Develop reports for program activities to assess program impact.

Responsible for CRA performance monitoring and performance gap identification.

Manage internal regional communication and provide updates to ensure timely receipt of reports and requested information.

Maintain accurate records and establishes strong working relationships with internal partners.

Lead / Participate in special projects as assigned by manager.

Identify areas of process improvement to increase departmental efficiencies.

Comprehend Bancorp policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITES REQUIRED:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

5+ years’ experience with Community Reinvestment Act.

3 + years of Analytic or equivalent work experience.

Computer/Technical: Demonstrates working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) without assistance and minimal supervision.

Able to understand and conceptualize basic statistical analysis and theories.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Understanding of Fifth Third banking products, business lines, regional structure and operations, and corporate support organization, including the Bank's management teams and decision-making operations.

Demonstrated experience and awareness of community development and non-profit management and engagement.

Displays a positive business presence with management and external contacts.

Attention to deadlines and detail

Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Attend industry related conferences and meetings and stay involved in ongoing trainings and educational opportunities.

Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical and critical thought processes when developing and recommending solutions.
