Corporate Safety Leader
The Corporate Safety Leader is a supportive member of IFP’s Corporate Risk and Safety Team and is accountable for creating, influencing, and maintaining a culture that is centered around our Commitment to Zero, Striving Towards Excellence and Professionalism in Safety (STEPS). The Corporate Safety Leader is responsible for setting expectations, providing direction, coaching, coordination and supervision of International Fire Protection’s Health and Safety Program and Policies. The Corporate Safety Leader shall focus on understanding the District Leader’s needs, challenges, and opportunities while providing the training, support and resources needed to ensure they are promoting a positive safety culture. (Candidate must reside within the area of our district locations: Madison, AL; Birmingham, AL; Marion, SC; Winder, GA; Austell, GA; Tifton, GA; Little Rock, AR, Nashville, TN; Chattanooga, TN; Miami, FL or Tampa, FL areas) In this position there is a 50-75% travel requirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
+ Communicate Safety & Risk expectations to the District Leaders, Safety Committees (Teams), Superintendents, and Foremen.
+ Assist Districts to develop and maintain a safety and risk culture centered around “Commitment to Zero.”
+ Influence field leadership by providing coaching, training, and feedback so that they have the skills and knowledge needed to prevent accidents and incidents.
+ Collaborate with Risk and Safety Team to identify, plan, and develop methods and improve processes to obtain greater efficiency and make IFP safer.
+ Support our Driving Without Distractions and Dashcam Policy initiatives.
+ Explore, research, and adapt new products and/or technology that will further enhance the company’s safety performance.
Duties:
+ Conduct job site safety audits to determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices.
+ Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance with all state and federal regulations.
+ Meet with District Leaders regularly and in person to review and hold them accountable to the following:
+ Performing Safe Starts; daily or before each new task
+ Monthly vehicle inspections
+ Creating and/or maintaining a productive, functioning Safety Committee (Team).
+ Ensuring annual LMS training is completed.
+ Promoting the practice of Safe Actions: “Stop Work” initiative, Weekly Toolbox Talks, Safety Observations, Reporting Near Misses, Tool and Equipment Inspections.
+ In person quarterly safety/ technical training is conducted.
+ Support Districts by providing quarterly safety training and creating and delivering training materials for Districts to use in their training.
+ Create and communicate safety Toolbox Talks annually.
+ Leading our Driving without Distractions initiatives by overseeing our Dashcam Policy (Samsara) – Assist District Leaders in their efforts to coach and hold team members accountable for unsafe driving behaviors.
+ Assist in the investigations of incidents and accidents. Work with District Leaders and involved parties to prepare and communicate Lessons Learned.
+ PPE – Assist District Leaders in the selection and procurement of required PPE.
+ Participate in APi Group Safety & Risk functions, calls, and collaboration efforts. (X-Cup Award, STEPS Audit)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ Valid State Driver License
+ Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
