Role Overview:
You will work independently within policy and procedure to ensure that all calculations of sentences for all incarcerated individuals are completed under the current sentencing and release policy and procedure. You must ensure all release issues from assigned facilities are resolved per policy and procedure. You must be able to respond to questions from Facility staff.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
+ Review all release information submitted for assigned facilities as well as information which is available in the Offender Management System, INCite system and the scanning system, to ensure that each release is in compliance with policy, procedure and state law.
+ Send a Release Authorization to the facility when all issues regarding releases are resolved.
+ Enter data in the Offender Management System like commitments, release credit actions, discharge actions, parole actions etc. for assigned facilities in accordance with the established policy, procedure, and state law.
+ Ensure all available documentation is reviewed and verified when entering or modifying sentencing information or authorizing the release of offenders from the Department of Correction.
+ Act as a resource person for assigned facilities when questions arise regarding release, credit time and sentencing issues.
+ Respond to correspondence from court, offenders or other interested agencies or interested parties.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
+ High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
+ Five (5) years full-time experience in corrections, criminology, parole, probation work, or related areas.
+ Substitutions: Bachelor’s degree may substitute for the required experience with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
+ Extensive knowledge of the correctional release process, including sentencing and credit time statutes and sentencing alternatives.
+ Extensive knowledge of Indiana Department of Correction Facilities and the programs available and security requirements and criteria.
+ Ability to learn Offender Management System and related software programs.
+ Ability to complete the Certification of Credit Time Calculations and Central Office Inservice Training.
+ Ability to complete related training offered by Correctional Training Institute.
