The Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson to join our team. In this role, you will lead and supervise inmate workers in the production, manufacturing, or processing of products and services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Frackville's Correctional Industries laundry plant. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for instructing, training, and supervising inmates in the techniques, processes, and procedures of the industry. This includes providing demonstrations, offering clear explanations, and maintaining close oversight during training and work assignments. You will plan, assign, review, and evaluate the work of assigned inmates, ensuring that performance meets established standards. Additionally, you will maintain training progress reports, wage records, and attendance logs for inmates while ensuring quality and efficiency in production through regular inspection of equipment, raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week + Work hours are 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday. + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,846.00 (before taxes). + You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
