JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the immediate supervision of the Legal Service Division Chief (DC), the AO V shall perform the following duties and responsibilities to be assigned by the Head of Office/ Central Office, to wit:

Functions and Responsibilities:

General Functions:
1. Review and prepares comments on the legality and appropriateness of contracts, agreements (MOA & MOU), deeds, memoranda, correspondence and other related documents submitted to the LS;

2. Prepares and study legal opinions on pertinent legal queries and/or documents;

3. Conducts research on laws, issuances, jurisprudence, rules and regulations;

4. Prepares complicated legal documents and instruments such as but not limited to contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits;

5. Provide technical and/or administrative support involving completed staff work for action documents; and

6. Does other related duties and responsibilities.

Specific Functions:

1. Render legal opinion or advice on laws, rules and regulations, policies;

2. Comment on proposed guidelines (Administrative Orders and Memorandum Circulars).

3. Conducts research on laws, jurisprudence, issuances, and other related issuances applicable in rendering legal opinion

4. Assists the supervising lawyers, Division Chief (DC) or Head of the Office (HO) in the preparation of memoranda and letters for legal opinion as well as legal assistance to internal and external clients of the Department;

5. Provides legal assistance to Department clients regarding legal issues and concerns; and

6. Assists the DC and Head of Office to the meetings and activities related to legal matters; and

7. Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the supervising lawyers, DC, HO as deemed necessary.
