JOB DESCRIPTION

The Legal Assistant II is responsible for the provision of legal support and assistance to facilitate the operations of the Legal Management Division, Legal Service. She/he performs legal services assistance in the management and disposition of cases, such as, but not limited to evaluates or assess administrative complaints and other cases endorsed, conducts research and legal studies, assist lawyers in draft of correspondence, memorandum, Thearings, pleadings and other paralegal works, designated as member and attend TWGs activities as may be assigned by the immediate supervision or LS Director, and other related tasks.

Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Research on laws, issuances, jurisprudence, rules and regulations;

2. Take action and/or prepare responses to queries and act on routine and simple legal issues;

3. Draft basic legal documents and instruments such as contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits;

4. Prepares comment on the legality and appropriateness of contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences and related documents submitted to the LS;

5. Assist in pertinent administrative and related committee/s as assigned by the Head of Office;

6. Communicate and coordinate correspondences with various officials and offices;

7. From time to time, the Director may assign other related tasks and responsibilities.

Job Outputs:

1. Memoranda for legal opinions and letters for communication on pertinent legal documents;

2. Pleadings such as Petitions, Comments, Manifestations, Complaints, Affidavits or other pleadings that may require by Court or other tribunals;

3. Documents and instruments such as contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits; and

4. Periodic/ Compliance Reports
