JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the immediate supervision of the pertinent Legal Service Division Chief, candidates for the position shall perform the following functions aside from other duties and responsibilities to be assigned by the Head of Office:
Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Performs various relatively difficult legal work;
2. Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials;
3. Assists lawyers during representations in courts;
4. Research on laws, issuances, jurisprudence, rules and regulations;
5. Take action and/or prepare responses to queries and act on routine and simple legal issues;
6. Draft complicated legal documents and instruments such as but not limited to contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences, and affidavits;
7. Comment on the legality and appropriateness of contracts, deeds, memoranda, correspondences and related documents submitted to the LS;
8. Communicate and coordinate correspondences with various officials and offices;
9. Leads pertinent administrative and related committee/s as assigned by the Head of Office;
10. From time to time, the Director may assign other related tasks and responsibilities.
Specific Functions:
1. Assist the lawyer and/or AO V in the rendering for legal opinion or advice on laws, rules and policies; and comments on proposed guidelines (Administrative Orders and Memorandum Circulars).
2. Conducts research on laws, jurisprudence, issuances, and other related issuances applicable in rendering legal opinion; and
3. As alternate focal in archiving of Legal Opinions, and monitoring tools (Legal Case Portal and EDTMS); and
4. As alternate focal in handling FOI concerns and Safekeeping of contracts.
