JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Development Officer (PDO) III GIS Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing patterns and trends through spatial mapping; managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types; organize and maintain geospatial data and associated documentation; create an appropriate geodatabase structure for efficient storage display and editing; and manage, symbolize, and label map layers to support visualization and data exploration.
Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Lead in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of an online GIS platform for visualization and analysis of DRRM-related data and information;
2. Update the geospatial information database using GIS applications and other related software;
3. Consolidate, validate, update, and archive DRRM-related geospatial information database;
4. Monitor and generate thematic maps for data analysis and visualization based on various data sets;
5. Evaluate GIS-related technical reports and outputs to ensure accuracy and quality of generated data/information;
6. Process and analyze of hazards, exposure data, critical/lifeline facilities, resource capacities, displacements sites, disaster-vulnerable areas, and other disaster-related information/data using GIS tools and Remote Sensing technologies;
7. Assist in the preparation of project proposal to keep abreast with technology trends, improve existing systems, and enhance technical capabilities;
8. Provide technical input in planning, evaluating, and piloting technologies prior to major investment or deployment;
9. Prepare DRRM-related technical reports and training manuals relative to disaster-related geospatial database;
10. Conduct learning sessions or technical assistance with the Team on spatial analysis and sharing data/outputs through online GIS platform to support DRRM response operations and ASRSP implementation;
11. Preparation of PPT for DCC and management use.
12. Receive and attend to phone calls queries.
13. Validate all information/report gathered by duty personnel in all forms of media.
14. Prepare required DRRM-related DCC reports. and;
15. Undertake additional duties or other related works as required and may be assigned from time to time by higher authorities.

1. DRRM geospatial information database;
2. Web GIS Portal and Configuration of Applications;
3. Thematic maps and spatial/data analyses;
4. Project proposals, guidelines, and training manuals for the development/enhancement of disaster-related geospatial databases;
5. Feedback reports on field missions, field monitoring visits, technical assistance, meetings, workshops, training, etc.;
6. DRRM-related technical reports and presentation;
7. Other reports that may be required.
