Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant


Plan, organize and administer specialized accounting activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. May provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountants.
 

·     Prepare month end reconciliations journal entries with complete back up in a timely and accurate manner

·     Prepare, analyze and assist with accurate processing of monthly accounts payable and accounts receivable aging

·     Ensure that all charges to the fixed asset accounts are categorized properly

·     Maintain a computerized listing of all fixed assets, supported by appropriate photocopies of source documents

·     Assist with the preparation of fixed asset schedules for year-end audio.

·     Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, account statements and using computerized and manual systems

·     Enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, checks, and invoices in a ledger

·     Prepare standard entries and accruals

·     Various month end duties completed by assigned deadline

·     Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing and maintaining filing and record system.

·     Backup for payroll, AP and AR

 Requirements

 

·     Possess working knowledge of computer programs such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and company system

·     Good communication skills – both verbal and written.

·     Maintain accuracy in financial records while paying attention to detail

·     Ability to solve discrepancies in accounting data such as bills, invoices and reports.

·     Possess organizational skills in dealing with the day’s priorities and respond to urgently required special requests, while keeping in mind the need to complete routine tasks on schedule.

·     Assist others to complete routine tasks and to ensure services are provided efficiently

·     Ability to learn additional functionally in the ERP system, work procedures, and expand financial knowledge

·     Must be willing to learn

·     Work independently and as part of a team
