Cost Accountant
General Summary: We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join us onsite at the Corporate office in Greeley, CO. This person will be responsible for conducting moderately complex cost studies. They will also prepare and analyze cost reports.
Responsibilities:
Prepare estimates of new or proposed product costsMaintain bill of materials and product routingsAnalyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepare reports of variances. Analyze data obtained and record resultsAnalyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costsAnalyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsCompute cost value of work in process for inventory purposes. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or servicesAnalyze cost records to ascertain distribution of costs for various divisions of management and productionClassify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute the unit cost of product or serviceRecord cost data for use by management in controlling expendituresConduct and analyze audits of costs and prepare reports. Compile cost data for preparation of operating budgetsMay determine and install cost accounting methods and proceduresOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred2+ years of directly related experience preferredStrong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detailExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with internal and external customersMay require availability outside of normal business hours (one Sunday morning per quarter)Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Base salary range of $55,000-$59,000; Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; andCareer Development: Our company is dedicated to supporting professional growth by offering continuous learning opportunities and a focus on career growth through various learning and development programs.
