POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cost Accountant will oversee the following responsibilities: Reviewing terminal vs. SAP inventory, preparing reconciliations with various reports, and reviewing vessel documentation. The role involves reconciling inventory sales, conducting cost reconciliation at the BOL (Bill of Landing) level, and maintaining monthly BOL (Bill of Landing) lists. Will provide BOLs to Accounts Payable and Billing, calculate MEC cost accruals, and reconcile E4P Right-Angle with PS4 SAP. Will run and prepare daily BOL reconciliation and coordination to resolve discrepancies are essential. Additionally, the candidate will prepare support documentation and/or ad-hoc reports for the monthly Blackline reconciliation, support audit requests, and perform annual physical inventory checks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:• Collects, compiles, analyzes, and verifies financial, invoices, or other data to ensure the integrity of accounting records. Investigates and resolves discrepancies. Prepares analysis and schedules in support of financial statements and related disclosures. May prepare analysis and schedules in support of payment proposals within the Treasury organization.• Creates and records journal entries and/or other transactions directly or indirectly impacting the financials, maintains general ledger, reconciles accounts, and creates government special reports. Identifies efficiencies and recommends ways to improve processes and standards.• Ensures the integrity of financial transactions with both internal and external stakeholders as well as ensuring successful completion of internal and external audits. May ensure the integrity of financial information in the invoicing process and ensure compliance with government requirements.• Supports accounting processes by addressing and assisting with fulfilling business requirements, process, or system enhancements, and/or LATAM accounting standards. Ensures standard business processes are followed within specific accounting functions.• Ensures proper execution of controls and performance, documentation, and retention in accordance with accounting policy. May review reconciliation of bill of runs to detect possible fraud.• Displays ability to utilize systems/tools, which may include, but not limited to, Excel, SAP, PowerBI, etc.• May serve as a resource to less experienced accountants. May train or review the work of others.• May document, update, and maintain internal procedures or work on special projects. May collaborate with internal/external customers, third parties and project teams to ensure adherence to the AP/AR standard operating processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. (Professional license required) • Two (2) years accounting/finance experience.• Fluency in English & Spanish (speaking & writing)
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS regulations.
• Experience with Excel or databases. (Excel, PowerBI, Access, Tableau will be highly appreciated)
